The Acne Studios FW25 collection explores the contrast between two worlds and two sides of the same woman—one rooted in the North, now navigating the fast-paced energy of the city. It is about exploring the illusion that these two worlds can co-exist.

The Show

The show is imagined amid a futuristic ‘skyline’ juxtaposed by a natural landscape of unique woven sculptures by design duo Front, inspired by the nature of native Sweden.

“I found Front through a friend of mine and their beautiful pieces were the perfect contrast to our fake city inspired skyline to continue with the illusion of their co-existence.” Jonny Johansson says.

Silhouette

The collection’s outerwear and tailoring are thought with more soft, rounded sleeves and shoulders, referencing at times the volume of a power suit. Some pieces feel more relaxed, like flowing dresses that seem just casually thrown on. Legs are highlighted with shorter hems, slits, and stretchy stockings. 1970s influences appear in draped fabrics and sculpted bodysuits. Retro-inspired silk scarves are reimagined as tops and dresses throughout the collection, exploring the idea of classic shapes and silhouettes in new ways.

Fabric

Contrasting textures of leather: the smooth and bonded, versus undulating and warped, handwashed to create a crinkled finishing. The softness and wear of a well-loved teddy bear is evoked in layers of faux fur and shearling, or a new flocked finish on denim. Some fabrics are more lightweight and transparent, cut on the bias. The exploration of denim continues; creases are preserved as if the garment has been frozen in time or bonded across its surface with vinyl.

Colour and Print

A warm mix of brown, oat, honey, and beige, paired with bold 1970s-inspired shades of Bordeaux red, purple, and gold. Black adds a graphic touch. A sense of illusion: clothing projected onto clothing, warped, and shifted in context. Polka dots that are teddy bears. Nostalgic checks and plaids; a more graphic stripe.

Shoes

A felt boot, soft and padded, inspired by the construction of a soft to. A play on the provocative sensuality of a pump, sliced with a peep-toe or reimagined in warped, curly leather. Menswear archetypes are subverted: a classic penny loafer is ‘broken,’ becoming a boot or heel. Luxurious textures: faux ostrich, lizard, and alligator.

Bags

The new Camero Hotel shape debuts as a supersized version of the Camero family, which includes the Camero Camero and Camero Party. The new Multipocket bucket bag is introduced as part of the existing Multipocket family and the Bowlina arrives in fresh colours and textures, including faux ostrich and shearling.

Accessories

Jewellery pieces recall items found on an office desk, with pendants shaped like luxury pens and notebooks in silver and gold. Belts are adorned with bold, heart-shaped plaques, while aviator sunglasses come in an oversized style.

Valentino presented its Fall-Winter 2025/2026 collection at the recent Paris Fashion Week, under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele, in one of the most talked-about and daring fashion shows of the season. Entitled “Le Méta-Théâtre des Intimités,” the presentation transformed a seemingly banal place-a reconstructed public bathroom-into a space charged with symbolic meanings, a counter-place that defies convention and dissolves the dualisms between public and private, intimate and exposed.

Michele, in his second ready-to-wear show for the fashion house, chose a provocative set design: a huge public bathroom illuminated by red lights, with rows of cubicles that served as a catwalk. For Maria Grazia Chiuri, fashion is a vector of transformation. For this Dior autumn-winter 2025-2026 ready-to-wear show, the Creative Director of Dior women’s lines wanted to revisit the memories and gestures that belong to Dior’s heritage by forging a pluralistic dialogue with the history of fashion. The purpose of this proposition is to demonstrate how clothing is a receptacle that affirms cultural, aesthetic, and social codes. Temporalities sediment the creations in a continuous interplay of inspirations welcoming the imprint of bodies and modern desires.

Each collection is a construction, a project steeped in fantasy. An awareness. An invitation to use fashion to be yourself. Garments therefore constitute a repertoire of possibilities. Thus the white shirt – which for Maria Grazia Chiuri is the founding element of an outfit freed from gender stereotypes – converses with the forms conceived by Gianfranco Ferré, the architect and erstwhile Artistic Director of Dior, who turns into a reference for this collection.

The wardrobe, a symbol of metamorphosis, reveals frills in the shape of a removable collar, worn or not, according to the spirit aimed at; a fluctuating element – echoing the perception we have of ourselves –, an evolution of the Orlando ruff – inspired by the eponymous character of Virginia Woolf’s novel –, from a distant era that defies time and genres. Like the visual dramaturgy of Robert Wilson, who choreographed the movements of models in a theater, a world in mutation: the colors shift, from dark to light, punctuating the scene changes. A swing, a prehistoric bird, rocks, craters, and finally the emergence of an iceberg.

The different influences running through the Dior lines interact and draw a map, marked also by the return of the J’adore Dior t-shirt signed John Galliano. Another restored reference is the cut-out and appliqué embroidery, offset by technical jackets. Like dematerialized crinolines, black velvet ribbons, attached with baroque pearls, bring texture to skirts and dresses.

Synonymous of lightness, the transparency finishing the shirts contrasts with the matte black felt of the hyper-structured coats that follow the curves of the body. Shoulders are rounded to shape the silhouette, while masculine jackets are combined with bustiers. The tailcoat is back. Lace collars are added. Shiny/matte, black/white. Utilitarian pieces, such as raincoats, are part of the ensemble and illuminate a daily life that takes us back to the heart of our history.

Entering the house that Mr Tom Ford built I was drawn to the man himself, whose personality reverberates through everything he envisioned. He is nightlife, I am the morning after: this is where our dance begins. Inside a chamber bathed in grey, with guests seated on plush benches, steamy mirrors all around bearing traces of the night before.

Private rooms, in clubs, are the mysterious places where things happen that not everyone can access. That unattainability is a distance that charms, fueling desire. TOM FORD is a world of desire. It lures and seduces.

To seduce means to bring someone close, drawing a gaze, enticing touch, stimulating senses, rewarding discovery with surprise and beauty.

Sensuality is the feeling of beauty. I welcomed my beauties here: the noble personalities embodying my idea of what makes an individual today. Their androgyny brings alive the vertical directness of what they wear, the ease of pure lines empowered by the full blast of color.

Colors of joy. Bright pastels that are fresh and uplifting, on suits and dresses as immediate as t-shirts; vivid hues that also glisten on the eyes as powdery eyeshadows.

Grey, and full black, stay, because they are in the personality of this house.

There is dignity in pureness, in taking away rather than decorating, in turning decoration into architectural shapes that complement or neatly accessorize the body. A T runs on heels, jewels, belts, like a hidden message.

The bow is not just a decorative detail. It can be a gesture of refined essentiality, an ornamental touch or, when taken to the extreme, a style statement. In N21’s Fall-Winter 2025-26 collection, the bow becomes a true hallmark: it crosses shapes, volumes and lines, revealing new interpretations of femininity and design.

The inspiration: three films, one aesthetic

For Alessandro Dell’Acqua, creative director of N21, the bow is a bold element, capable of subverting linearity and creating that unexpected charm that captures the eye. Hence the collection, inspired by three masterpieces by Sofia Coppola: Lost in Translation, The Garden of Virgin Suicides and Marie Antoinette.

• From the first, she takes the essentiality of the cuts and the timeless charm of petite robe noire.
• From the second, the sensuality of transparencies, the play between masculine and feminine, between lightness and structure.
• From the third, the playfulness of colors, pastel but decisive, in a celebration of unconventional elegance.

The collection: a dialogue between structure and movement

Sartorial cleanliness meets hyper-feminine details in an alternation of shapes and materials. The classic felted wool coat, doubled in neoprene, opens in a fluid flare that anticipates skirts with similar silhouettes, some in Dalmatian pony skin, others in technical fabrics. Sweaters in neoprene wool stand out for their over sleeves, emphasizing the contrast between minimalism and exaggerated volumes.

Inevitable is the petite robe noire, the absolute protagonist in versions that play with the bow: refined petticoats with adorned empire necklines, chemisier dresses with Victorian embroidery or models with bare shoulders, closed with a dramatic bow. Absolute essentiality. Shoes come in ultra-sophisticated versions: sabots in pastel satin, black and gold, wrapped in multi-studs, or sling-backs and ballet flats in the same materials. Bags focus on sharp geometries and metallic closures, declined in printed crocodile, patent leather, ecofur and leather in shades of black and pastels.

For their AW25 collection, Paul Smith look to the other side of the lens, focusing on the personal style of some of the 20th century’s most influential photographers. Elegant tailoring fabrics and classic silhouettes are subverted through subtle pattern clashes, gently exaggerated proportions, and unexpected textures.

A lover of photography since childhood, Sir Paul has long drawn inspiration from the world of still images, and for his AW25 collection he celebrates every aspect of this creative world. The rich, inky palette is inspired by the liquid tones of Saul Leiter’s colour photography, while the slightly unkempt approach to tailored clothing nods to the personal uniforms of some of the 20th century’s most iconic photographers: David Bailey, Terence Donovan, and William Eggleston.

A focus for the season is the ‘Field Flower’ print, which is realised as a vivid photoprint on shirts and ties, as well as woven into jacquard knitwear. This print is adapted from an image by another photographer, whose name might not be as familiar as the aforementioned, but who has nevertheless had an enormous influence on Sir Paul: Harold B. Smith, Paul’s father, and founder of the Beeston Camera Club. Harold’s photographs are characterised by his eye for detail and irreverent sense of humour, qualities which Sir Paul very much inherited, and which have shaped his entire outlook. The ‘Field Flower’ motif returns elsewhere in the collection, in a darker, moodier version, printed onto statement eveningwear.

Traditional tailoring fabrics are employed in unexpected ways, with classic fare such as herringbone wool being laundered for a more lived-in texture. Subtly contrasting fabrics are positioned side by side, sometimes within the same garment. A tailored jacket which, at first glance, appears to be of uniform construction reveals an understated patchwork design up close. Houndstooth and Prince of Wales patterns are blown up to exaggerated sizes, and appear not only on clothing but on shoes and accessories too. It is a typically irreverent attitude which still preserves the fundamentals of tailored clothing.

In another instance of tradition and irreverence coming together, the AW25 collection also offers the first look at Paul Smith Loves Barbour, a new collaboration between two of the best-loved and most recognisable names in British fashion. Comprising reimagined versions of some of Barbour’s most iconic coats, alongside knitwear, accessories, and t-shirts, the range is inspired by livestock competitions and farm shows. Taking a playful approach to country classics, the collection will feature unusual shades of waxed cotton, patchwork constructions, and a recurring Friesian cow motif.

Paul Smith AW25 makes its debut at the company’s Paris headquarters on Wednesday 22nd January 2025. Sir Paul himself will guide an intimate audience through highlights of the range, bringing the collection to life through in-depth explorations of the season’s narrative and design ethos.
