Shalana Santana Shalana is our new cover model. She has a very open personality, she is fun, talkative (yes!) and smart. We had a very nice time working together. At the end of the shoot we felt like she was an old friend. Did we mention that she is talkative? We did? Well, she is! Shalana is Brazilian and is currently based in Milano, Italy, but she is traveling frequently abroad for her work. Even if this is just the fourth time she comes to Italy her Italian is fluent. Very fluent, almost perfect. Did we already say she is talkative? :)

How old were you when you started working as a model?
I began when I was 19 years old, but I had to stop when I was 21, and now I am back, since September 2006.

What do you like the most about your job? And what is the think you dislike the most?
What I really like is the opportunity to see many new places, make new friends, and earn money. What I dislike… that I have to stay away from my family for long periods of time.

If you had to give a personal advice, based on your experience, to a girl who is starting her modeling career, what would it be?
My advice to a girl who is beginning right now would be to make sure she has a school degree before she start modeling, and to make sure to have the strong personality required by this job.

Which are your projects, once you will be done with your modeling career? (many many years from now!)
My goal is to earn and save money for the future, and then be able to go back to university (and study History).

Let's talk about men. Shalana's ideal man is, or should be…
My ideal man is attractive, nice and funny, smart. And should never ask me to split the restaurant bill…

Are you a shopping addict? And when you are choosing an outfit or accessories, do you pay attention to the brand?
I love shopping, as most of the girls, but I am in control of myself, and I buy something only when I really need it, or when I really like it.
