Azusa Higa

Azusa Higa is our new cover model. Not a model you meet every day. The curriculum of Azusa Higa is a long a high level one, a series of covers to be intimidating even for an experienced photographer. FHM, Maxim, Metropolis magazine, Mars Magazine ... Japan, where she comes from, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia ... her portfolio is a long sequence of covers and editorial photoshoots of the highest level.

And now Azusa Higa is the new cover model of Adversus.

Where are you from?
Originally I am from Okinawa, an island in the south of Japan.

Where are you based, where do you spend most of your time?
I am based in Tokyo and Europe (Holland and Milan) so I split my time between here and there.

Can you give us some 'numbers'. How tall are you, measurements, etc…?
5'3" tall, 34D-24-36

What are your personal interests and hobbies, in your private life? How does a typical day in the life of Azusa Higa goes?
I am a wine lover, so I go to wine school to become a sommelier, also I study psychology at school. It's so interested! In a psychological way… I can play better than guys! Tipical days in my life? Hmm… It's very simple. I wake up early morning and go to the gym and Yoga, lunch at cafe, go to school, reading books, watching movies, drinking good wine! I am not a party girl so I prefer to stay at home and relax in the evening.

Are you a shopping addict? What do you like to buy for yourself when you go shopping?
NO! NOT at all! I don't like shopping… I prefer to watch soccer. I am a big fan of Inter Milan. I guess my personality is more 'masculine'. I am not 'girly' at all.

How and when did you become a glamour model? Do you remember your very first shoot?
Yes I do remember. My friend sent my photo to an agency, that is how I started. Before that I never ever thought that I would become model and I was never raised to think that I was pretty or sexy. Because it was never something that was pointed out to me by my family. My family is bit strict so since I was child, I went to church every Sunday morning, and learned classic ballet, piano, violin, went to swimming school everyday... I was such a good girl :(

What is your best feature, the part of your body you are most proud of?
Well... it's difficult to say but maybe my eyes.

What is still missing from your career, in your opinion? What is the assignment you really would like to do?
I did pretty much everything I wanted to do, right now I am very interested in video clips such as music videos, commercials etc, and it would be great if is there any chance to explore that direction in my career.

Your professional projects. What are you doing right now, what are you planning to do in the next future?
I do many things now, I do modeling but I have another carrier, I also study. So I am kind of busy in these days :) I am too ambitious…

How important, in percentage, are the following three qualities for a model, in your opinion? A) look B) personality C) luck
Wow, it's difficult to say in percentage, everyone says looks are most important. I agree with that. But personality and luck are also important.

Do you have any model-enemies? If you do - no names please - maybe you could tell us what happened… ;)
No. I don't have any enemies, I think the worst enemy is myself, I sometimes lose my confidence at all, sometime I am depressed, so it's very hard to handle myself.

Let's talk about beauty secrets. If you open your purse right now, which beauty and make-up products do you have in it?
Actually I don't do make up usually, only for modeling (as I said I am not girly girl.) But I always have Chanel Lipstick and Lancome lip gloss, and perfume in my bag.

What is your opinion about plastic surgery? Something to avoid, something useful…
I think it's not a bad thing, if she/he can be happy, no problem! But don't be addicted, it can become scary.

Let's talk about men now, and let's start with the profile of your ideal man

Age (min and max) Age doesn't matter at all.
Height (min and max) Sorry to say but i love tall guys,180~190
Body type (from skinny to muscular to chubby if you like…) I don't like too muscular, chubby, skinny. Balance is very important I guess.
Hair and eye color: It doesn't matter! But I prefer Latin black.
Money and social status: from extremely wealthy to 'propertyless'…
Hmmm of course wealthy is good and I love guys who have power, but again, it's balance! Not all about money and social status.

What signals do you give to a man when you want him to make the first move?
I am very straight forward so I will say, "I wanna go out with you" in person. No such a game.

How do you dress, when you decide to dress sexy, but real sexy?
I wear nice a classy black dress not showing too much, just a little bit !

What type of underwear do you like to wear? Sexy, comfortable…
Needless to say, SEXY. I love European brands especially "Agent provocateur" England, "Obsessive" which is a lingerie brand from Poland, also Aubade which is French... I always want to do modeling for them but right now they don't use Asian models, because there is not a lot of market in Asia.

How important is sex in your life?
VERY. IMPORTANT. People say I am sexy, well that's the reason why I guess.

Could you feel physically attracted to another girl? And if yes, how should she look like, and be like?
Well...It's a secret!

When in a relationship do you stop looking at other men? And does the fact that a guy you like is already 'taken' stop you?
No, I don't look at other men. If I love someone I love him, I am not interested in others.

Let's talk about what happened in Japan (March 2011)
Actually I was in overseas at that time. It was the saddest tragedy . Such a terrible disaster… but we should be positive now, my heart and hopes are always to the people in Japan who have been affected. And I try to do something I can do for them such as donations, sending some relief supplies... I believe even with a small thing, you can save them. God bless everyone in Japan. With ALL MY LOVE.
