Thick eyebrows, bright orange lips and healthy glow tan skinInterview with Lili Choi, Korean Makeup Artist based in Paris, France
"If we talk about brand new trends, then the trendiest color for the lips will be Orange/Burgundy (Berry lips). Thick eyebrows will become even more natural, no tweezers! And then and healthy glow tan skin only on cheeks, chin and forehead."
I know Lili Choi's work for a long time. She is one of those makeup artists, actually I should rather say "artist", you recognize immediately. Technique, artistic sense, fantasy, these are the three words that better describe, in my opinion, her work. Lili is not just a 'makeup artist', she is also a very well known tattooist (and I LOVE her paintings on skin...). Born in Korea, Lili Choi started make up as First Assistant to Tom Pecheux (4 years), she has been a freelance make up artist for 8 years, working through Artlist Agency in Paris with French, Spanish, German, Korean and Japanese Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Pop, Dazed Confused, Chanel, Lancôme, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Mac Cosmetics, Cacharel and Diesel to name a few. Impressive to say the least.
And it goes on. Lili worked with People like Amanda Seyfried for the last Givenchy Perfume campaign, Bjork, Kate Winslet, Tilda Switon, Carin Roitfeld. In 2012 she collaborated with Cacharel for 'Amor Amor by Lili Choi' limited bottle with her creation tattoo design. http://www.lilichoi.com/
Needless to say we are proud and happy to publish her exclusive interview here on TRENDYSTYLE.ASIA. An interview where Lili will tell us more about the new makeup trends from her vantage point in Paris. Of course we will talk about makeup trends, but also products, and... flawless skin, next season's best 'accessory' for every woman.
Natural bright faces with a healthy glow will continue to be the most important trend in makeup also for the Spring Summer 2014 season. Perfect, porcelain skin will also still be very important, together with 'Forever Black Cat eye make up', thick eyebrows and red lips. All these makeup trends we already know from the current season will be strong also for the Spring Summer 2014 season.
Which are the most important new makeup trends you see coming for the Spring Summer 2014 season?
If we talk about brand new trends, then the trendiest color for the lips will be Orange/Burgundy (Berry lips). Thick eyebrows will become even more natural, no tweezers! And then and healthy glow tan skin only on cheeks, chin and forehead.
Which are your personal favorite products, in order to achieve the looks you just explained?
Tom Ford -Wild Ginger Lipstick, NARS Cruella Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, High Precision Retouch Concealer Stick by Giorgio Armani Beauty, and Stila Waterproof Brow Color if you want to have thick natural eyebrows all day.
Can you tell us what makeup are you wearing today, and - if possible - give us a brief explanation on how to 'copy' your makeup look?
Of course, here the products I am using today for my quick make up :)
Eyebrows: Stila waterproof brown color
The must-have beauty product for the Spring Summer 2014 season, the product every girl and every woman should always bring in her purse is...
High Precision Retouch Concealer Stick by Giorgio Armani Beauty 2 in 1 as concealer and highlighter. Nars Cream Blush Stick- South Beach for summer contouring in order to have a healthy summer look. Ducray Melascreen Light Cream SPF 50+ light texture transparent. Use it as a make up base under heavy sun.
Beauty and skin. How to obtain a flawless beautiful skin with the right use of the right makeup products? What is your personal advice?
Here is my personal advice for a flawless skin, with some help from the right products (and how to use them).
Rose water spray to clean the face: morning and night, use of several essential oils like 100% pure organic Argan oil (I put one drop in my cream and use it also for face massage).
Prickly pear seed oil hydrates and repairs the signs of skin aging, and it should be used after the sun during the summer.
Foundation. Apply your make up base with a gentle massage. The goal
of this is to help your foundation look like a second skin.
Thank you, and we hope we will be able to have you as our expert guest on TRENDYSTYLE.ASIA again in the future.
