"I expect a return of lashes with a little '60s style for top and bottom. The look is ultra-feminine. It all just feels very feminine and beautiful again without being cheesy though. Women are still cool."
Discover the latest makeup trends for the upcoming Spring Summer 2014 season. Update your make-up for a cutting-edge look. This season's make-up is more feminine and elegant than ever. Trendystyle Asia interviewed Terry Barber, Director of Makeup Artistry M.A.C and renowned make-up artist who will guide us through the makeup trends for the Spring Summer 2014 season.
A glowing 'Gisele skin'
'This season we are going back to femininity. During the past seasons we have seen a lot of androgynous influences, masculine eyebrows, masculine shapes, but this season women want to be very feminine again,' says Terry. 'The focus is definitely on skin', Terry Barber says. In keeping with the season's healthy looking and glowing skin, we need to take very good care of it. More important than foundations are serums, creams and 'pre-foundation' products as primers and BB cream. 'Skin should be as glowing as Gisele's [Bündchen] with a warm honey tone.'
Another key product in the make-up for this summer is lipstick. 'We are going red orange again', says Terry Barber. 'It is summer! Women want red colors that they can wear in the sun, more relaxed, more laid back. Lips are almost '50s colors, orange, red, raspberry. As for the texture, it is fun to use some colored powder (pigments), to be applied on top of the lipstick, for a velvet touch.'
A new femininity
In short, for summer 2014 we will focus mainly on the skin, that must
be radiant, healthy and glowing and on the lips that are colored red
and orange. 'I furthermore expect a return of lashes with a little
'60s style for top and bottom. The look is ultra-feminine. It all just
feels very feminine and beautiful again without being cheesy though.
Women are still cool.'
