Bangkok nightlife: vertigo restaurant bangkok a romantic dinner under the stars... well this is litterally what you can expect from a dinner at the vertigo restaurant, right in the heart of bangkok. located on the roof of the banyan tree hotel, on the south sathon road, a dinner at the vertigo is probably the most exciting dining experience of your life, if you ever happen to visit this wonderful city.

we said that the restaurant is located on the roof of a building, we forgot to add that the roof is on the 61st floor... the view from here is absolutely amazing. a 360° view on bangkok, tall skyscrapers everywhere, lights, nice and cool breeze... and you are the tallest of them all!

the menu is very sophisticated, and the quality of the food served is really top. nice soft music in the background, and a lot (and I mean a lot) of problems to find a table, even if you call a few days in advance to place a reservation. we were lucky enough to find a table around 10:00 pm. no problem by the way because the restaurant is open until 12:00 and in bangkok there is always something nice to do while you are waiting...

the price is the only small downside to an otherwise very positive experience. especially if you consider the cost of life in bangkok. a dinner for three (opening with a delicious fresh dish of seafood, red wine, australian meat for two and seabass for one, plus dessert) cost us about 11.000 baht which is in line with the price of a high class european or american restaurant, but way above what you will expect to pay in bangkok. but you pay for what you get, and our experience on the highest restaurant of the world was an absolute success.
