the staff is highly trained and not only can prepare on the fly every cocktail you ask for, but they know all about every brand they serve. if you do not believe it, just put them to the test. you might have to take your skepticism back.

travelin' matt, the marketing and promotions director, welcomes us and introduces us to the q bar 'way of life'. it is immediately clear that here all is about quality (you might think the 'q' in q bar stands for quality, but the origin of 'q' is a long story and comes from another country, vietnam, where the q bar story started several years ago. but as we said, it would be a long story...) and that here they take quality very seriously.

Top quality at the bars, and top quality in the music department. This seems to be one of the most important ingredients in the successful recipe of the q bar.

the music selection is taken care of by a perfect mix of resident dj's and international guests. guest dj's from around the world are carefully selected and flown to bangkok. house, acid jazz, drum and bass, hi-hop, live acts... there is something for every taste, and the public seems to appreciate the fact that the music is always original and away from the standard top 40 you can find almost everywhere, nowadays.

the q bar is also the place where international celebrities hang out when in bangkok. a few names? mick jagger, matt dillon, oliver stone, jackie chan, the black eyed peas and many others all paid their visit to this club.

what we liked at the q bar is the genuine atmosphere, people having fun, great music, and - personal opinion - the fact that on the second floor they have an open terrace where the music is not too loud, so if you want to talk to somebody and take a breath of fresh air (warm air should we say, being in bangkok) you can do it

the q bar is open 7 nights a week, and every night is a good night to visit it. weekends get to be more crowded, as you can expect, but also on the typically slow night you will be able find enough people there to have fun and enjoy a night of dancing, drinking, meeting people.

the minimum age required to enter the q bar is 20, you better bring your passport because they will check it at the entrance. the entrance fee (from 8 to 12 euro's depending on the night of the week) includes 2 drinks.
