Bangkok nightlife: Kuppa restaurant in Bangkok Kuppa Bangkok was one of my favorite places for dinner. And it is still a very nice place. But the contiuous pushing for "do you want another glass of wine sir...?" when my glass is still half full or the waiters who keep pouring wine from my bottle until it is 'prematurely' empty so they can ask "another bottle, sir...?" made me decide to go there much less often than I used to.

Located in Sukhumvit Soi 16, at walking distance from the Asoke BTS station in Bangkok, Kuppa Restaurant offers an International and a Thai menu. And a good wine selection. A very elegant and relaxing place just a few minutes away from the traffic, the nightlife, the crowd.

Once inside the restaurant you can chose which way to go. We call it 'formal' or 'informal'. Left or right.

The left side is more formal and more 'restaurant-like', with regular tables. The right side is less formal, nice dim lights, and many tables and corners to choose.

Again, we personally like - when available - the couch with the low table in the corner. A perfect observation spot, discrete and relaxing. Oh, yes, there is also an upper floor, for more private dinners.

You never know, there are times when somebody could use some privacy… and another thing: in the cool (thai) winter nights you might want to try the tables outside.

The staff is very professional, ready and polite. The customer base is a very good one. Expats and their families, businessmen, trendy young Thai couples. Luckily very few tourists, at least very few ugly tourists and you know what we mean.

The elegant atmosphere of Kuppa Restaurant, the carefully selected lounge music (with a DJ), the quality of the service and of the food make it one of the nicest places (very personal opinion) in town. Ideal also for just a relaxing glass of wine.

Not a cheap place for Bangkok (nobody asked for a cheap restaurant anyway), a dinner for two at Kuppa Restaurant, including a good bottle of wine, will cost around 3000 Baht, 60 Euro's more or less.
