Hairstyles and trends Spring Summer 2014

Hair trends 2014
"The classic 'long sleek hair with no fringe'-look will keep going on. And also last season's very edgy and graphic looks will still go strong. But little by little we move to more 'undone' looks. It is not quite the 'out of bed' look. The hair cuts and styling may seem 'raw' and 'accidental' but there sure is a strong idea behind it. These looks are cool and unique"

Halley Brisker Hair Stylist

If you want to know the latest trends, you have to ask the right people. For the latest hair trends, the hair trends for the Spring Summer 2014 season, we interviewed Halley Brisker, top hair stylist. In this interview we are going to talk about the newest hair trends, lenghts, colours, and of course hair care and must-have products.

Halley Brisker is an editorial hairstylist that was born and raised in California, he now lives in London. He has created looks for magazines such as VOGUE, HARPER'S Bazaar, Vanity Fair and ELLE. He also creates looks for the "ready to wear" runway shows twice a year. His clients include Paul Smith, Dunhill, LOEWE, TOPSHOP and Max Factor. He has also worked with celebrities such as Emma Watson, Courtney Love and Anna Friel.

Which are the most important new hair trends you see coming for the Spring Summer 2014 season? Short hair lengths, medium hair lengths, long hair?

I see a return of the chin length choppy bob. I think women want to be daring again and enjoy the rawness of such a look!

Which one is your personal favorite and why?

I always obsess over long hair on women, I think this is probably because I am idealistic about the idea of "my woman".

What about the colors?

I think the multi-colour and pastel palette will continue to be a craze for girls for the foreseeable future however, spawning from the recent dip dye trend though I think we will see women with darker natural tones still wanting to achieve that lighter shade but in a more soft/natural way. Not so many hard gradients between light and dark but soft transitions to light ends and dark roots.

The must-have hair care/beauty product for the Spring Summer 2014 season, the product every girl and every woman should absolutely have in her beauty case...

I am personally really inspired by Bumble&bumble's "thickening creme contour". It has only recently hit the market and is a fantastic all round finishing product. It helps to maintain and simultaneously add texture to any look, it is my go to product right now and every girl could benefit from having this in their handbag.
