Givenchy Spring Summer 2014
The runway scenery at Givenchy's is quite macabre. In the middle of
the catwalk the remains of a bad caraccident, the cars still steaming,
as if the accident just happened. The scenery symbolizes the clash between
the African and Asian cultures, leitmotiv in the summer 2014 collection.
The collision between both continents' ancient rituals adds to the 'ethno-ascetic'
but sensual mood that characterizes designer Riccardo Tisci's collection.
The long jersey dresses are draped, twisted and knotted. Tunics are
covered with sequins. Fluid lines and wide volumes contrast with sharply
cut jackets. All outfits are showed with ultra flat and quite 'ascetic'
sandals. Tisci has once again treated us to a great collection.
