Emanuel Ungaro Spring Summer 2014
Fausto Puglisi's second collection for Emanuel Ungaro is opulent, colorful,
strong and precise. Connoisseurs will certainly notice the influences
of the great Versace from the '80s. The pockets, the gold buttons and
the volumes are all very Versace-esque. The colors on the catwalk are
intense. Turquoise, bright yellow and mint green are combined with black.
Puglisi also plays with polka dots, stripes, graphic effects and transparent
materials. A striking detail in this collection are the undulating strips
- a kind of volants - which are placed on both sides of the legs and
that adorn blouses and even the high-heeled sandals. No minimalism for
Puglisi, but an über-feminine and strong collection.
