Sun Fei Fei backstage at the Milano Fashion Week

A top model arrives always last minute at the next show. Not because she wants to, but because she cannot do anything else. When she has many booking, many fashion shows, and the traffic in Milano not helping…, she can just do one thing: run.

Run from one backstage to another, arrive, take off the makeup from the previous show, on with the new makeup, while someone explains her what she will have to do on the catwalk, maybe grab something to eat, try (and we say try) to relax 3 minutes before the beginning of the next show.

All this while all backstage photographers are trying to photograph her (she is a top after all) and some (like myself) also to interview her. Alessio Cristianini

Well, what you have just read is the faithful description of the FeiFei backstage experience at the Anteprima Fall winter 2011 2012 Fashion Show. And what you will read here is the interview she nicely agreed to do with Adversus. And - believe me - she was under a lot of pressure.

Allow me a first, maybe naïve, question. Is your name Sun FeiFei or FeiFei Sun?
In China people always call me Sun FeiFei but in Europe and in New York the just call me FeiFei…

How old are you?
21 years old, now

And where do you come from?
Shanghai

Where are you based in now?
Now I am based in New York, I went back to Shanghai only last August and for Christmas

Do you see your professional future more in China, where you come from and where the economy is booming, or more in the western countries?
I am not sure. Things always change… so I cannot give you an answer right now

Who are your best friends, in the fashion business?
I have many friends, but they are all in Shanghai… if I told you some names nobody would know them

Where are you going after Milano?
Paris. Maybe then go back to Shanghai, rest, and then go back to New York.
