Shu Pei, 21 years old, is one of the biggest names in the army of Chinese models which took the fashion world by storm recently. We met Shu Pei, and interviewed her, backstage at the Anteprima Fashion Show in Milano (Woman Fall Winter 2011 2012).

Shu Pei was just finished with her make-up and making a few phone calls. We asked for an interview, and she accepted, and was very nice and patient with us (patient because you have no idea how busy and crowded a typical backstage can be…). Alessio Cristianini

How long have you been modeling for?
I have been modeling for 3 years now

How did you start modeling?
I was there for my studies, high school, and my agency just approached me

So you started in New York. Are you also working in China now?
Since 6 months, yes

China is growing very quickly; do you see your professional future more in China and Asia or in the Western countries?
Maybe I will go back to China. My best friends and my family all live in China, so…

Who are your best friends, in the fashion business?

I have a lot I like!

Are you a shopping addict? Do you like shopping?
Yes, of course! I just bought these Prada shoes three days ago here in Milano

Are you often in Milano, or just for the shows?
Mostly just for the shows. I come here for shooting sometimes, but not too much.

What is you planning for the next few weeks, after the Milano Fashion Week?
Going to Paris, then New York…

What are you going to do once your modeling career will be finished? Do you think about it sometimes?
Maybe something about fashion… but I am not sure yet!
