We met Izumi Ogino, creative director and designer of Anteprima, backstage a few minutes before the beginning of the show. Some models are already ready, make-up and hair done, others are just arriving from a previous show, and need to hurry.

Izumi Ogino sits in a corner, watching and supervising the backstage, and kindly accepts our request for a quick interview right before the presentation of her Fall Winter 2011 2012 collection.

Why do you always present your collections in Milano?
Because I love Italy and also I use a lot of materials from Italy

Which is your biggest and most important market, right now?
The biggest market of course in every brand is the same: China

What about Japan?
Japan also, it is quite big

Can you tell us something more about this new collection, the Anteprima Fall winter 2011 2012 collection?
This collection. When I start thinking about a new collection, I start thinking what kind of woman… and this collection will be a mysterious woman, not 'cute cute' anymore, so I got a lot of inspiration from the forest, colors like Bordeaux, green, dark blue, a lot of nice colors… the materials are also like spongy materials, but I also played a lot with contrasts… so I used a lot of 'futuristic' materials, like 'double nylon'.

Where do you feel at home? In Japan? In Italy?
In the sky! (and she laughs pointing at the sky)

Which place in the world would you like to live in?
Of course I have a lot of friends in Tokyo, so I like to spend my time in Tokyo, but I also enjoy travelling a lot ;)
