Chinese, born in Malaysia, Angie Ng is not just a successful and promising fashion model, but also a lawyer (yes, a lawyer!). Born in 1987, she studied law and worked as a model in the UK, where she walked the runaways at the London Fashion Week in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Currently based in Hong Kong (but with fashion models it is often difficult to say where their real base is) she won the FHM "Girl Next Door" competition in 2008. We interviewed Angie and talked about her career, her projects, and her private life. Read on.

Let's start with the most important question, and we will not talk about modeling here. Are you a lawyer? Please tell us more about it.
I graduated in Law at the University of Reading two years ago. I was already modeling then but only part time. I fell in love with modeling and decided I did not want to give that up so I continued my journey after graduation and I have not regret it one bit. Nonetheless, studying law has definitely helped me be a much more smarter and become a more mature person in decision making and facing difficulties while traveling and modeling.

How did you start modeling?
I was spotted by a famous local fashion designer in Malaysia, Michael Ong. He then introduce me to Cilla Foong (a former top model in the eighties) who became my teacher and mentor. She taught, guided and introduce me to the fashion industry which i knew nothing about at that time. I can’t thank her enough for all the advice and lessons she has given me over the years. I am really lucky to have her as my mentor.

Where are you currently based?
I am now in Hong Kong but I will probably fly out in a couple of months time. I really don’t know where my base is yet. I guess I am still traveling to find somewhere I really like and maybe then I’ll stay there longer and call “there” my base.

What are your plans for your full time modeling career?
I’m really excited for 2011. I have joined an agency in Montreal and there are also some upcoming projects which I am really looking forward to. I am going to continue to work hard and cross my fingers for more interesting projects to come along. I don’t want to plan too much as more often than not things happen last minute so I really want to go with the flow and make the decisions when the time comes.

And your plans for the future? Are your Law studies going to come into play sooner or later?
Maybe, maybe not. I am not sure. But I definitely want to start a business on my own soon.

Your professional dream would be…
A successful business women and model.

What do you like the most about your body?
Wow, choices choices choices.. I think if I have to narrow it down, it will be my wide shoulders and my legs.

Your opinion about plastic surgery
A big no no for me. I think it is fine if the person is comfortable with it as it is such a modern world now. However for me, I would not be comfortable at all if I have plastic surgery done.

Which is the city where you would you like to live if you could choose any, and why?
Malaysia. Firstly, because that is where my family and friends are. Malaysia has a balance between the hustle and bustle of a city and relaxing beautiful beaches. On top of that, Malaysia has really tasty and cheap food! I can’t ask for more

Your favorite city for: shopping

Your favorite city for: food

Your favorite city for: partying

What do you like to do in your free time?

Who are your best 'model friends'?
I really don’t have much best model friends. most of my friends are not models.
